International Economics and Trade major started from 1988. In 2003, it was granted the right to confer the academic master's degree of "International Trade". In 2010, it was granted the right to confer the professional master's degree of "International Business". In 2018, the Applied Economics discipline, which our major belongs to, was granted the right to confer doctorate degree. From then on, our major are qualified for the complete education system from bachelor, master to doctor degree.

In the past 30 years, we promoted and realized internationalization. In 2005, we open up the first bilingual teaching experimental class. In 2006, we started the English experimental class and continue to now. We aim to foster the comprehensive talents to have the solid foundation in the theory of economics and international trade theory, master basic knowledge and skills of international trade practice, and grasp international trade rules, policies and regulations.

In 2020, the School of International Economics and Management effectively integrate competitive disciplines such as International Economics and Trade, Business Administration and Computer Science, strengthen interdisciplinary studies, and set up International Economics and Trade (Experimental Program of International Business Management).

Our program will build in line with the international first-class training system. To meet this goal, we strengthen students’ English communication ability, encourage international exchanges and improve the training quality. Students can study abroad through "2+2", "3+1" cooperation programs and short-term exchange programs to enrich their learning experience and expand their international horizon.

Our program will provide each student of each grade with an academic tutor and a practice tutor. All tutors will be selected from excellent teachers of our school and famous experts of enterprises. To provide students with a full guide of learning, research and employment guidance.

Our school breaks through the traditional professional restrictions, and creates a modular curriculum system. Under the guidance of the tutors, students can combine their own interests and advantages to make flexible choices and realize personalized training programs. The program will also invite experts from well-known universities and enterprises at home and abroad to serve as visiting professors for the students, and carry out a variety of cutting-edge lectures, online micro-classes and summer classes and other short-term courses.

Our program pay high attention on students’ practical application ability. In terms of curriculum, we offer practical courses such as International Trade Practice, International Trade Rules and Practices, Management of Multinational Companies, and Simulation of International Business Negotiation to improve students' practical operation ability. In terms of scientific research ability, we encourage students to actively participate in research projects and discipline competitions. Many teachers of this program have guided students to win prizes in International Business Negotiations Competitions and other competitions for several times. In terms of practical experience, we create internship opportunities for students by co-building practice bases with enterprises. At the same time, our school has jointly hosted Academic Forum on China-Pakistan Scientific Technology and Economic Cooperation under the "Belt and Road" Initiative in the past four years. We cooperate with the international affairs department of the CAST, international affairs department of the BAST, and the Pakistani Embassy in China. Students can participate in the whole process of conference preparation, business contact and conference publicity to experience international business activities.

This program has a high level, young and international faculty team. And we are actively enrolling more senior teachers at home and abroad. There are 14 teachers in our teaching and research section, including 2 professors, 10 associate professors, 2 doctoral supervisors and 12 master supervisors. All the young teachers have the experience of studying abroad, teaching ability in English and outstanding scientific research ability. We can form a teacher-friend interaction with students, also can train students to explore the frontier learning skills.

2. International trade module: International Economics, International Trade Practice, International Marketing, International Business Law, Foreign Direct Investment, etc.

3. Management modules: Management, Multinational Corporation Theory and Practice, Financial Management, Organizational Behavior, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Management Decision Model and Method, Big Data Business Analysis, Financial Data Mining and Business Intelligence, etc.

4. Practice modules: Business English, Simulation Experiment of International Trade Practice, Simulation Experiment of Foreign Trade Documents, Simulation Experiment of International Business Negotiation, Simulation Experiment of Cross-Border E-Commerce, Practical Training of Big Data Analysis, etc.

Graduates of this program can engage in business and management related to international economy and trade, scientific research work in various enterprises, government departments and scientific research institutions. Graduates can continue to study further for a master's degree, or both master and doctor’s degrees at home and abroad. In recent years, about 10%-15% graduates continue to study for master’s degree in China, and about 30%-45% graduates chose to study in foreign countries for their master’s degrees.
